Ghent - Charleroi, El Clasico and Bruges-Union: Spotlight on the wild 10th matchday of the Pro League
Once again, the weekend looks dense and intense on Golden Vegas Sport. The Jupiler Pro League is set to deliver three more days of thrilling action. Without further ado, here’s the full schedule for this 10th matchday.
We’re already one third into the regular phase. If you’ve followed our blog throughout the previous 9 matchdays, you know this one is shaping up to be explosive with the three fixtures on the calendar.

Ghent - Charleroi: a tasty opener
The crazy weekend kicks off on Friday. Charleroi travel to Ghent’s Ghelamco Arena, where the Zebras haven’t won since 2021. In football, everything can change quickly, and Rik De Mil’s men know this better than anyone.
After three consecutive wins two weeks ago, they followed up with two home defeats at the Mambourg against Zulte-Waregem and Mechelen. Hardly uplifting, especially when it seemed they had finally moved on from their European Cup elimination against Hammarby.
On the other side, Ghent have made a rather average start to the season. Their play has not been convincing, and Ivan Leko is already under pressure—despite earning credit by beating Antwerp away while playing a man down. So, who will take this first big clash of the weekend? Don’t hesitate to place your bets during the game to benefit from even better odds.

Anderlecht - Standard: loser takes the blame
Fifteen days after the last one, another Super Sunday awaits in our beloved Jupiler Pro League. Anderlecht host Standard in the traditional Clasico that the whole country looks forward to.
Truth be told, both historic clubs of our league are disappointing at the start of the season. Standard already changed coach, sacking Mircea Rednic and bringing in Vincent Euvrard—yet that didn’t stop them from losing to Club Brugge last Saturday.
In Brussels, things aren’t much better. Besnik Hasi’s future hangs by a thread. Last week, the Mauves delivered another poor performance, managing only a draw away at Leuven. So, will Anderlecht beat the Rouches? One thing is certain: loser beware!

Bruges - Union: a Champions League clash
This is the game everyone is waiting for! A showdown between the two best teams in the country. And what better way to wrap up the week than with our two Champions League representatives—both of whom lost this week to Newcastle and Atalanta?
Union are flying high in the league as leaders, but Club Brugge already defeated them this season. That was back in July during the Belgian Supercup. This mental edge will surely stay in the minds of Vanaken and his teammates.
It’s a first turning point in the Jupiler Pro League. If victorious, Union would already open up a 9-point gap over their current runner-up. Can the Blauw en Zwart overcome the reigning Belgian champions?
