Which Jupiler Pro League players will feature at the World Cup?

We already knew the starting XI of stars missing from the World Cup. But with just days to go before kick-off, the 48 qualified nations have now unveiled their final World Cup squad selections.

The football tournament, jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, will bring together a record 1,248 players for the biggest edition in history.

GoldenVegas Sport has listed the 28 Pro League players at the World Cup who will be hoping to shine on the international stage. With a surprise 29th representative who also plays his football in Belgium — just not in the top division.

Club Brugge, the World Cup's Leading Supplier of Belgian League Representatives

The Belgian top flight will be particularly well represented thanks to Club Brugge. Three Blauw en Zwart players will join the Red Devils in Seattle: Hans Vanaken, Joaquin Seys and Brandon Mechele.

Several foreign internationals have also been called up for the 2026 World Cup. Ecuadorian defender Joel Ordonez will be one to watch, while Swedish striker Gustaf Nilsson makes the Scandinavian squad despite limited playing time towards the end of the season.

KRC Genk are not to be outdone. The Limburg club will see four of their players take part in the tournament: Yaimar Medina with Ecuador, Zakaria El Ouahdi in Moroccan colours, Junya Ito with Japan and Joris Kayembe with the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Anderlecht, Standard, Charleroi: Several Belgian Clubs Will Have Their Ambassadors

Anderlecht will have two representatives at this World Cup: Canadian Nathan Saliba and Mexican César Huerta. Ilay Camara, however, ultimately missed out on the final Senegal squad after featuring in the provisional list.

Over at Charleroi, three players have booked their place at the tournament. Mohamed Koné and Parfait Guiagon will represent the Ivory Coast, while Yacine Titraoui convinced the Algerian coaching staff to include him in the squad.

Union Saint-Gilloise, who lit up the Belgian season by winning the Belgian Cup final against Anderlecht, will also be represented by several internationals. Kevin Rodriguez will wear the colours of Ecuador, while Promise David and Besfort Zeneli link up with Canada and Sweden respectively.

It is a similar story at Standard Liège, where Matthieu Epolo will take part in the competition with DR Congo, while Dennis Eckert Ayensa has been called up by Iran.

A Challenger Pro League Player Also Makes the Cut

Other Belgian clubs will be represented too. Sint-Truiden will see Shogo Taniguchi and Keisuke Goto join up with Japan. At Dender, Alireza Jahanbakhsh will defend Iranian colours, while Luc de Fougerolles travels with Canada.

Cercle Brugge will be counting on Oumar Diakité with the Ivory Coast. Gent will be represented by Jean-Kevin Duverne with Haiti, KV Mechelen by Redouane Halhal with Morocco, and Zulte Waregem by Wilguens Paugain, also in Haitian colours. At Antwerp, Anthony Valencia joins the Ecuador squad.

Finally, one last name completes this list of international players from Belgium. Jearl Margaritha, who spent this season at SK Beveren in the Challenger Pro League, will play at the World Cup with Curaçao before getting his first taste of Belgian top-flight football next season.

You can follow the performances of all 29 representatives live on GoldenVegas Sport during a month set to be packed with goals and thrilling matches.
