The World Cup 2026 is shaping up to be a truly landmark edition — the first ever to be hosted across three nations: the United States, Canada and Mexico. For the Belgian national side, it represents a major challenge, both on the pitch and off it. Yet while several high-profile nations will be absent, Belgium will be there for the fourth consecutive time.

The squad will set up their training base at the facilities of Seattle Sounders FC, the city's MLS outfit. The team will be staying at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington, just 11 minutes by car from the training pitches.

The choice is no coincidence. As part of the Belgium World Cup 2026 schedule, the Red Devils will take on Egypt right here in Seattle. Should they finish top of Group G, they will also play their round of 32 and round of 16 fixtures in the same city — a real home-from-home advantage.

Canada on the itinerary

The expanded format of the WC 2026 means longer journeys and varied playing conditions across the continent. Squads will need to adapt to markedly different climates throughout the tournament.

Seattle was also selected with Canada in mind — Belgium's match against New Zealand takes place just across the border in Vancouver, a flight of roughly an hour and a half away. Compare that to the qualifying campaign, where the squad had to endure a six-hour flight to Kazakhstan.

The trip to Los Angeles for the group stage clash against Iran is only two hours in the air. Keeping travel time to a minimum is crucial for recovery — and could prove decisive in a long tournament. Could this be the edge Belgium needs to go all the way?

Iconic venues for a historic tournament

The FIFA 2026 match locations where Belgium will play beyond the group stage will naturally depend on how they finish. A second-place finish or a best third-place spot could see them return to Vancouver.

Alternatively, the draw could send them to New Jersey or Dallas, Texas. But one dream unites the whole country: seeing the Red Devils at MetLife Stadium in New York on 19 July — lifting the trophy for the very first time.
