Premier League, AFCON and Coupe de France: a blockbuster weekend announced on Golden Vegas Sport
We don’t know if you’ve already booked the TV at home, but one thing is certain: this is the weekend to stay on the couch. Just before Boxing Day, the Premier League has a major clash in store.
And that’s not all. While there will be no Ligue 1 fixtures, France will be treated to the Coupe de France. On the schedule: David versus Goliath, with amateur teams taking on professional sides. And plenty of surprises along the way.
Finally, the Africa Cup of Nations will kick off on Sunday. For a full month, the African continent will showcase the very best of its football. In the meantime, let’s take a closer look at what awaits you on Saturday and Sunday during this blockbuster weekend.
Premier League showdown
This may well be the match we’re most looking forward to here at Golden Vegas Sport. If we mention two legendary teams in England, who comes to mind? Here’s a hint: a struggling champion travels to face an opponent dealing with similar issues.
Bingo! Even if both teams are currently stuck in mid-table, Tottenham vs Liverpool remains the headline clash of the weekend. With six defeats already and a seventh-place position, questions are being asked about how Arne Slot is still in charge of the Reds.
On the other side, Thomas Frank had made a perfect start to his tenure at Spurs before a disastrous November, during which Micky Van de Ven and his teammates failed to pick up a single win. Last weekend’s heavy defeat at Nottingham Forest (3-0) was a blow. Will they bounce back? Bet live on a match where odds could shift quickly depending on how the game unfolds.

A former Red Devil under threat
In France, the Cup is a celebration. After putting aside their work gear, amateur side Saint-Cyr Collonges-Au-Mont-d'Or, a sixth-division team, will take on the mighty Olympique Lyonnais in their impressive stadium. However, Auxerre vs Monaco is the fixture that really catches our attention.
And for good reason: it involves a Belgian. Sébastien Pocognoli, the former Red Devil, is going through a difficult spell on the Rock. Victory against Galatasaray in Champions League has given him some breathing space, but an elimination in the Yonne region could prove decisive.
On our website or in our physical locations, the full list of which can be found here, the team from the Principality are favourites with odds of 1.87. Given Monaco’s current form, isn’t it tempting to make a deposit and back Auxerre, while always playing responsibly?

AFCON: Morocco kings on home soil?
This Sunday, the entire football world will turn its attention to the Africa Cup of Nations. As host nation, Morocco kicks things off against Comoros, with ambitions of going all the way and lifting the trophy for only the second time since 1976, their last final appearance dating back to 2004.
Beyond the sporting aspect, why place bets on this competition? Because, much like foreign leagues, it counts towards our Combi Golden Odds tournament, where €2,500 is up for grabs.
From Monday onwards, Mali, Belgium’s compatriot Hugo Broos’ South Africa, and Egypt will also enter the competition. If you don’t want to miss a thing from AFCON, stay connected to GoldenVegas Sport. Our blog will keep you informed about everything happening in the Land of the Setting Sun.
*Odds are subject to change. Event ends on December 21 at 8:00 PM.
