Football: De Mil’s debut, Union’s tormentor against Pocognoli, and Liverpool in danger: discover the weekend’s fixtures
You might think the world of football is giving you a bit of a break. For that, you’ll have to wait three short weeks until the winter break. But as every week, your favourite Belgian online betting site, Golden Vegas Sport, has listed the matches to follow this weekend.
After the Champions League, which brightened your midweek but saddened our Jupiler Pro League clubs. Union lost to Marseille (2–3) and Bruges fell to Arsenal (0–3), both at home.
It’s time to turn the page quickly. And the football world is full of interesting matches this weekend. Our blog has selected three of them. Here’s everything you need to be in the best conditions to place your bet.
Ghent – Antwerp: De Mil’s first match
If you don’t follow the Belgian league but you love Netflix, we can only advise you to catch up, because this week was worthy of the wildest plot-twist series.
On Monday, Club Brugge announced the dismissal of Nicky Hayen and then poached Ivan Leko, Gent’s coach. This Wednesday, the Buffalos in turn brought in Rik De Mil, the successful Charleroi coach who had taken the Zebras to Europe.
In this never-ending game of musical chairs, De Mil will therefore make his debut at the Planet Group Arena this Sunday against Antwerp. Interestingly, the Great Old also changed coach three weeks ago — and has won all its matches since. So, will De Mil succeed in his first outing?
*Odds are subject to change. End of the event: 14 December at 1:30 p.m.

Marseille – Monaco: Poco must avenge his former club
If we look beyond our borders and head to the south of France, an interesting fixture awaits us this Sunday evening. Two clubs aiming for the Ligue 1 podium but struggling with inconsistency.
A promising Marseille–Monaco clash. For Pocognoli, the situation is already difficult just two months after leaving Union Saint-Gilloise. The Belgian coach has already used up part of his credit, notably by losing to Brest last week despite having a numerical advantage.
Two recent victories have helped him, though. A prestigious win against PSG (1–0) and a narrow victory over Galatasaray this Tuesday in the Champions League (1–0). Will Pocognoli manage to avenge Union, his former club, which lost to Marseille in the UCL? The odds are not in his favour, whether on our online platform or in our physical betting shops.
*Odds are subject to change. End of the event: 14 December at 8:45 p.m.

Liverpool – Brighton: Slot under pressure
In the Premier League, all eyes are on Liverpool. Champions of England last season, the Reds now sit only in 10th place. With already six defeats to their name, one wonders how Arne Slot is still in charge.
The victory at Inter Milan in the UCL (0–1) brought a bit of serenity back to a club that has recorded just one win in its last five league matches. However, the home game against Brighton could prove fatal for the Dutch manager in the event of a defeat.
It could also be Mo Salah’s last appearance. The Liverpool legend was not selected for the Champions League after publicly criticising his coach following his benching. While Liverpool are favourites, we advise betting live as the odds could shift very quickly.
*Odds are subject to change. End of the event: 13 December at 4:00 p.m.
