Premier League: a crazy Matchday 21 between Arsenal and Liverpool, Manchester United without Amorim and Rosenior’s debut at Chelsea
It never really stops. While most footballers were able to rest comfortably during the festive period, our blog kept telling the story of the English championship without interruption.
There is no winter break across the Channel. The Premier League will only stop in May. And instead of Netflix, we would gladly buy the rights to follow the constant twists and turns of a competition where something is always happening.
Just like this week, when Manchester United sacked Ruben Amorim as head coach, while Chelsea lured Liam Rosenior from Strasbourg, their sister club — a move that sparked plenty of controversy. Enough to make this already wild Matchday 21 even more intense, as presented in this article by your favourite Belgian betting site, Golden Vegas Sport.
Manchester United in full crisis
It is hard to understand how he managed to stay in charge until January — or maybe not, since if he had been dismissed before November 1st, he would have received a €15 million compensation package. But still, Ruben Amorim did not survive Boxing Day.
Not the one from the Jupiler Pro League, of course, but the traditional English fixture period. Draws against Wolverhampton and Leeds proved fatal. His disastrous relationship with Jason Wilcox, the Red Devils’ sporting director, certainly did not help.
He has now been dismissed. While waiting for Oliver Glasner, Darren Fletcher will take charge on an interim basis at Burnley. The former club midfielder will be tasked with picking up three points to move closer to the top four — and maybe even dream of extending his interim spell.

Chelsea after the scandal
Do you know the butterfly effect? The scientific concept where the flap of a butterfly’s wings in South America can create a whirlwind in Asia? That is somewhat what happened last weekend in Ligue 1 because of Chelsea.
Well placed in the standings and top of their UEFA Conference League group, Strasbourg were enjoying a calm season. Until Enzo Maresca was dismissed by the Blues. With the same owner, known as BlueCo, the Alsatian club acts as a satellite team for the London side.
As a result, the Stamford Bridge board poached Liam Rosenior, the coach from Alsace. A move that was badly received in France. His debut at Fulham on Wednesday night will therefore be closely watched. With a win?

Arsenal–Liverpool clash
It is the perfect fixture to get your weekend started early. Enough to brighten up your Thursday despite the snow covering Belgium. And the ideal match to sign up for one of our Golden Vegas Sport tournaments.
Arsenal–Liverpool is the kind of game that can shake up the title race. Not because the Reds are serious contenders to defend their crown, but because the Gunners have taken a strong lead after beating Aston Villa, currently third, while Manchester City have drawn twice against Sunderland and Chelsea.
With a six-point lead, the Gunners would gain a major psychological edge over their rivals if they were to beat the reigning champions. Bet live on this highly promising clash with attractive odds.
