Jupiler Pro League final matchday: Top six and relegation – It all comes down to this!
The final matchday of the regular phase of Jupiler Pro League is set to be explosive! With the race for top six and the relegation battle both at boiling point, every single point counts and could turn the standings on their head.
While Union Saint-Gilloise, the reigning champions, look set to finish the regular phase at the top, it is far from clear which two sides will join the Brussels club, Club Brugge, Sint-Truiden and Mechelen in the top six to secure their place in the Champions Playoffs.
At the bottom, Cercle, Zulte-Waregem, La Louvière and Leuven are all desperate to clinch the last remaining ticket that would spare the lucky side from having to fight it out in the Relegation Playoffs to avoid dropping into the . Here is our breakdown of a Sunday that promises to be one for the ages.
Who still needs to secure a Top-Six spot before Playoffs?
They were supposed to be through already. But after throwing caution to the wind and losing to Mechelen last week, Anderlecht have still not officially booked their place in the Champions Playoffs. Only a truly extraordinary set of circumstances would see them miss out altogether.
Should they fall to defeat against Cercle, the Mauves will need to keep a close eye on their goal difference compared to Genk. However, a draw should be enough to see them through — even if they will have to do so without two key players, with both Saliba and Bertaccini suspended.
The real battle, though, looks set to unfold between the Limburg side and Gent. The Buffalos head into the day a point clear and travel to Dender, who are already condemned to the Relegation Playoffs. Genk must therefore win at La Louvière and hope for the best. Could we be about to witness one of the biggest upsets Belgian football has seen in years?

Relegation: which teams at risk could be heading down?
In the lower reaches of the Belgian Pro League standings, the tension is absolutely unbearable. Last weekend, Leuven pulled off the result of the round by going to win at Charleroi — emerging from the relegation zone at just the right moment.
Against Antwerp, however, Felice Mazzù's men will have their work cut out to hold onto their one-point advantage over La Louvière (30 points). Further back, Zulte (29 points) and Cercle (28 points) are hoping for something of a miracle.
, Zulte-Waregem may well be the best-placed side to stay up. The Zebras have not won in six matches and have managed just one point from their last 18 available. All eyes will be on Sunday to see what verdict Belgian football delivers.
