Coupe de France: surprises in the Round of 32 between PSG, Lyon and Lille?

Our neighbours across the Channel ended 2025 with Ligue 1 clubs entering the Coupe de France. They start 2026 almost the same way. Indeed, the Round of 32 takes place this weekend.

One week after the Ligue 1 restart. A surprising schedule, especially for those who were knocked out in the previous round and find themselves temporarily sidelined just seven days after pulling their boots back on.

But there were no major surprises. Only Auxerre, Brest and Le Havre were eliminated early. This time, things could be different. Golden Vegas Sport presents the stakes of a weekend where several big teams could fall.

Nantes vs Nice: a clash of struggling sides

Of course, this will not be a match on the level of the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals. Simply because it features two teams fighting to stay up in the league and who have both just changed coach.

Still, this Nantes–Nice clash stands out on the schedule. Not least thanks to the attractive football played under Ahmed Kantari, the new coach of the Canaries, during a prestigious and vital win in Marseille at the Vélodrome last Sunday.

As for Nice, they have welcomed back a familiar face on the bench. With Claude Puel, they failed to beat Strasbourg but showed clear signs of improvement. The contest therefore looks evenly balanced, as reflected by the very high odds both on our website and in our physical outlets.

Endrick’s debut with Lyon in Lille

While the football world will be watching the Spanish Super Cup final between Barcelona and Real Madrid on Sunday night, there is no doubt that many fans will also keep an eye on northern France.

Because this Lille–Lyon clash will be special, beyond being a showdown between the fourth and fifth teams in Ligue 1. Endrick, on loan from Real Madrid, will make his debut in a Lyon shirt at the Decathlon Stadium.

“My goal now is to work hard so I can play and help Lyon win,” the Brazilian said at his press conference. Doing so against Lille would already be a good start for a Lyon side that are not favourites, even if that could change depending on how the match unfolds, especially if you bet live.

Second Paris derby in two weeks

It was such an event that our blog devoted an article to it last week. It had taken 47 years to see another derby in Paris, a rarity compared to London, where they seem to happen almost every week.

But the schedule has something amusing about it. PSG and PFC face each other again, just one week after already meeting at Jean Bouin. This Cup tie will take place only 250 metres away, at the Parc des Princes.

What better occasion to take part in one of our tournaments? In any case, betting on an upset by Paris’ little brother against the Champions League winners perfectly sums up the meaning of the word “audacity”, as Luis Enrique’s men start as clear favourites.
