Belgian Cup: time for the quarter-finals
That’s the magic of the . Every start of the year, the quarter-finals mark the return of Belgian football. As usual, almost all the top clubs are involved, with the exception of Standard.
While a Bundesliga matchday is also taking place midweek, observers of our Jupiler Pro League will be keen to see who manages to reach the last four.
Your favourite Belgian betting site, Golden Vegas Sport, presents the fixtures between Charleroi – Club Bruges, Anderlecht – Ghent and Antwerp – La Louvière, with Dender – Union Saint-Gilloise completing the programme.
Charleroi aiming for a shock result
As early as Tuesday, we could witness a real surprise. Regular readers of our blog know that Charleroi experienced a turbulent first half of the season, between the Conference League qualifiers and Rik De Mil’s move to Ghent.
But Hans Cornelis has successfully handled his interim role and has now been appointed head coach. Against his former club, Club Bruges, Sporting will try to pull off a shock and reach the semi-finals.
It would be a first in 20 years for a club that had not reached this stage of the competition since 2019. An upset will be needed, because whether in our physical betting shops or on our website, the Blauw en Zwart are the clear favourites.

The Wolves as underdogs
Unlike their neighbours from Hainaut, they have already lifted the trophy. That was back in 2004 against Sint-Truiden. Twenty-three years later, La Louvière would love to pull off another upset. To do so, they will have to qualify away at Antwerp.
That will be no easy task. After a disastrous start, things have improved for the Great Old since the dismissal of Stef Wils and the arrival of Dutch coach Joseph Oosting. While the odds clearly make Antwerp favourites at home, live betting could be an interesting option.
Because anything can happen in this match. Just like in this competition, as Paris FC proved on Monday by knocking out PSG in the French Cup. Will we witness a similar shock at the Bosuil?

Anderlecht looking to save their season
It looked like a clear path for Anderlecht. Many thought it would be hard for the Mauves not to reach the final, with Ghent at home first and then the winner of Antwerp – La Louvière. But the situation has changed.
The Buffalos lost Ivan Leko, who moved to Club Bruges. And with Rik De Mil’s arrival at the Planet Group Arena, everything has shifted. This is the perfect match to sign up for one of our tournaments.
Why? Simply because it may be the most evenly balanced game, with no clear favourite. By betting responsibly, this is therefore the match that could bring you the biggest return if you manage to predict who will qualify.
